Timber

Specify HW for a durable hardwood (West African Idigbo) or any other hardwood of your choice. Specify SW for treated softwood.

This timber is treated against fungal attach in accordance with B.W.P.A and N.H.B.C. requirements for the preservative treatment of timber.

Sections

Frames are morticed and tenoned 90mm thick, glued and screwed.

Sashes are machined to a stormproof section, rebated for internal beaded glazing, comb jointed glued and doweled.

Opening sashes are hung on friction hinges, specify FH, or stormproof hinges, specify SP. Fixed sashes are weather sealed and screwed into frame prior to glazing.

All round weather stripping by Schlegel set into its own groove.

Projecting cills or heads are an option as are horns.

Features include 9° slope to frame mouldings to outside sash edge and glazing beads to any suitable moulding you wish.

Glazing

Specify SG for single glazing, DG 24 for 4-16-4 double glazed units or DG20 for 4-12-4 double glazed units.

All double glazed units will be Pilkington "K" low E glass.

Workshop fitted glazing is beaded and bedded in-so as to be almost irremovable, making the window secure against forced entry.

With interior to exterior drainage channels allows for manufacturers extended warranty to sealed units.

Ironmongery

Stainless steel friction hinges are fitted together with key locking casement fasteners either in epoxy painted, EP, or polished brass finish.

Plated stormproof hinges are supplied with key locking casement fastener and casement stay.

Sashes over 980mm high are fitted with two casement fasteners. Espagnollete locking is available.

Finish

Softwood windows are normally supplied in base coat which gives a maximum of 3 months protection prior to staining or painting. A minimum of a 3 coat system is required for warranty purposes.

Hardwood windows can have the option of being pre-finished with one coat stain or one of stain and two of lacquer, a final coat being applied after installation.
